Day 1: Nairobi to Laikipia Wilderness Camp

Your safari begins with a scenic journey from Nairobi to Laikipia County either by road or a short charter flight. As you travel north, the landscape gradually changes from the bustling city to open savannah and dramatic wilderness scenery.

Upon arrival at Laikipia Wilderness Camp, you will receive a warm welcome followed by lunch and time to relax while enjoying views of the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in Laikipia, exploring the rugged terrain in search of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, lions, and the elusive leopard. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Black Leopard Tracking in Laikipia

Spend the day exploring the beautiful landscapes of Laikipia County with expert guides who know the area intimately. Early morning and late afternoon game drives provide the best opportunities to track the famous Black Leopard, which has been sighted in this region.

The Laikipia ecosystem supports a remarkable diversity of wildlife including African wild dogs, hyenas, lions, elephants, Grevy’s zebras, and numerous antelope species. Between game drives, relax at Laikipia Wilderness Camp, where you can enjoy the peaceful wilderness setting beside the river. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Full Day Safari in Laikipia

Another full day is dedicated to exploring the remote wilderness of Laikipia County. Morning and afternoon game drives offer excellent opportunities to continue searching for the elusive black leopard while also encountering other incredible wildlife species.

The region is also ideal for nature lovers and photographers thanks to its dramatic landscapes and rich wildlife diversity. Depending on the camp activities available, guests may also enjoy guided nature walks or cultural visits to local communities. Return to Laikipia Wilderness Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Laikipia to Nairobi

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at the camp while taking in the tranquil surroundings of the Laikipia wilderness. Depending on your departure schedule, you may enjoy a short morning game drive before leaving camp.

You will then transfer back to Nairobi by road or flight. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey, bringing your unforgettable Black Leopard Expedition in Laikipia to a close.
